WCC ATC Concludes RISE 2025 with Awards and Strong Commitment to SDG-Driven Innovation

WCC Aeronautical & Technological College (WCC ATC) wrapped up the 3rd Research Innovation for Sustainable Education (RISE 2025: ICREATE-IMPACT) with a culminating ceremony that celebrated research excellence and reaffirmed institutional commitments to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The awarding ceremony recognized outstanding student and faculty contributions across categories including best papers, best presenters, innovation-based research, and promising young researchers.

The final day began with a synthesis of conference insights presented by Dr. Sonny Soriano of Urdaneta City University, highlighting key takeaways from plenary talks, research exhibits, and collaborative sessions.

Institutional partners then delivered statements of support, leading to the RISE 2025 SDG Commitment Wall Signing—a symbolic pledge to sustain collaboration and drive impact through education, research, and innovation.

Capping off the program was a discussion from Dr. Nataniel C. Bantayan, Vice Chancellor for Research & Extension of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), who shared UPLB’s Roadmap to SDG Implementation—emphasizing the role of higher education in addressing complex global challenges through interdisciplinary, community-based approaches.

In her closing remarks, WCC ATC Research Director Dr. Rosalie Sheryll T. Rosales stressed the importance of translating ideas into action: “RISE is not the end—it’s the beginning of collective action.”

With over 350 participants and multiple academic collaborators, RISE 2025 reaffirmed WCC-ATC’s leadership in convening globally relevant, community-driven innovation for sustainable development.
